Rumors about DJI VTOL drone dispelled

Just when we think the rumors are true as Kanzhaji released more specs and photos of the supposedly new DJI fixed-wing VTOL drone, DroneDJ was told by DJI that the drone in the images is not an official DJI product, but is a custom-built drone using DJI components.

Kanzhaji also released more slides from a presentation introducing DJI VTOL drone in Chinese. In addition to what we have reported yesterday, new slides revealed more functions of the ‘new DJI VTOL drone’ :

• Failsafe Return to Home and Smart Return to Home functions;
• Support up to 100 waypoints;
• When flying in fixed-wing mode, if the altitude is lower than the preset, the aircraft will switch to quadcopter mode to avoid crash;
• DJI Zenmuse X3, Z3,XT and X5 are compatiable with the aircraft.
