How to get approved for drone flights within 5 miles of an airport

After registering your drone, you still have to be aware of drone laws before taking flight. Currently, drone pilots must contact local airports if they wish to fly within five miles of an airport, which also include heliports and sea-based airports. For hobbyist, or everyday droners, it’s pretty easy to get permission, but pilots who fly professionally must submit a waiver that needs to get approved. Even though drones are small compared to airplanes, they can still cause damage. Besides reasons regarding human safety, drone flying with the FAA’s approval makes everything easier, especially if you run into uninformed police.
