Fake DJI Phantom 3 = Toy Drone?

This quadcopter from a Chinese company called HR has a drone that looks a little too similar to a DJI Phantom 3 Advanced. From the silver stripes to the camera and gimbal setup, the HR-SH5HD was clearly designed around a DJI drone. Don’t be fooled by this drone’s DJI Phantom 3 appearance because it is a lot smaller than the original. Just take a look at Drones Player’s comparison photo. This drone is a fake DJI Phantom 3, and it is simply just a toy drone.

Fake DJI Phantom 3

The HR-SH5HD was originally released with a small camera that made it look like a Syma X5SC Explorers 2 toy drone, but it is recently being sold with a camera setup that resembles a DJI Phantom 3. The 4 anti-vibration rubber balls on the gimbal system may look like a P3 gimbal, but it lacks a MicroSD slot. No memory card means that videos and photos are only saved through your phone or device via Wi-Fi. It has a 120 degree wide angled FOV camera, and it shoots in 720p. The camera system may seem effective, but the fake DJI Phantom 3 gimbal does little to stop the apparent jello effect. Take a look at the live view footage of the HR-SH5HD:

Colors, Flight Time, Etc.…

The HR-SH5HD comes in red, white, and black, and it runs for about 10 minutes. This quadcopter also has LED lights placed under the arms like a DJI P3 drone. The remote controller is a dead giveaway for a toy drone; it looks like a toy RC controller from Toys “R” US.
