Osmo Mobile 2 and Ronin-S were new releases that DJI featured at CES 2018. Aside from their other drones displayed in various colors, the two gimbals were the highlight of the show. They flew drones in a netted area, and DJI also gave people a chance to win a Spark Fly More Combo by getting the highest score in a Spark simulator.

CES 2018 – Osmo Mobile 2

Attendants constantly crowded around the Osmo Mobile 2. The 485 gram gimbal is lightweight and suitable for true one-hand operation. It is built similar to Zhiyun’s Smooth Q gimbal, but it costs less and features smoother panning action. When the gimbal goes left or right, it smooths out so that it doesn’t end in an abrupt stop. The gimbal can be used to control the phone’s zoom, making it easy to create Dolly shots. Mobile phone gimbals aren’t anything new, but the Osmo Mobile 2 felt like it would create smoother footage compared to its competition, and it’s priced slightly cheaper.

The Osmo Mobile 2 was placed on a rig that moved left to right while it stayed locked on what seemed like a Lego Spark; this showed the gimbal’s tracking capabilities.
