Mavic 2 Zoom modes

Dolly zoom shots, which are used to add suspense or drama to videos, can now be easily created with the Mavic 2 Zoom. Mavic 2 Zoom is also designed to automatically adjust focus while it zooms, but it can also be manually adjusted for even more precise control.  When using the 24mm field of view, Mavic 2 Zoom can be set to shoot and stitch nine photos together, resulting in a 48MP panorama.

Shared features

Both the Mavic 2 Pro and the Mavic 2 Zoom are built to shoot and process Hyperlapses while they fly, and they can be set to fly in waypoint, courselock, circle or free mode. Advanced H.265/HEVC codec is supported on both drones, which contains 50% more information than videos shot using the H.264/AVC codec. The top speed for both drones is rated at 44.7 mph, and they can fly up to 31 minutes. DJI also implemented a new OcuSync 2.0 transmission system, which allows the Mavic 2 quadcopters to fly up to 5 miles by automatically switching through 2.4 and 5.8 ghz channels.

Price and availability

Mavic 2 Pro is priced at $1,449, while the Mavic 2 Zoom is priced at $1,249. Both drones can be purchased right now from DJI’s official site.

“Simply put, the Mavic 2 series with its pro and zoom editions are the best aerial imaging products we’ve ever created in the consumer drone category,” said Oldenburg. “They’re a marvel of modern engineering.”
