The Mavic 2 Pro is DJI’s latest foldable quadcopter, and it’s equipped with a Hasselblad camera and a 1” sensor. Previously, drones from the Phantom 4 Pro series were the only DJI consumer quadcopters with 1” sensors, so We Talk UAV compared the Mavic 2 Pro and the Phantom 4 Pro V2.0 in this video to see which quadcopter is better:
Flight time comparison
The Mavic 2 Pro is rated with a 31-minute flight time, whereas the Phantom 4 Pro V2.0 is rated to fly up to 30 minutes. Those flight times were clocked in the most ideal environments, so real-world tests often end up being shorter because of factors such as wind. For the purpose of testing which drone flies longer, both drones hovered side by side. The Phantom 4 Pro landed at 23 minutes and 3 seconds when it reached 10% battery, while the Mavic 2 Pro landed at 25 minutes and 26 seconds at 10% battery. Hovering and flying with the wind impacts flight times differently, but considering the Mavic 2 Pro hovered over 2 minutes longer than a drone that was rated to fly just 1 minute less, DJI definitely improved the Mavic 2 Pro’s flight efficiency to be the best in its class.
Low light video test
Since color profiles are slightly different on the two models, Mavic 2 Pro was equipped with 10-bit HLG mode, while the Phantom 4 Pro V.20 was equipped with the closest matching color profile: D-Cinelike.
