Since I was a child Discovery has been one of my favorite channels and I never thought that one day I will find our Discovery Channel cheating. These days, I get most of the news online, and TV is not an important media for a young people anymore. However the other day I was passing by the TV and noticed the Inspire 1, so I stopped for a while and watched what they do. Here is what I have seen:
It was a Treasure Quest Snake Island Season 2 Episode 3
So in a nutshell:
The team uncovers proof of treasure in the jungle near a historic mission, and a spooky visit to an antique black market yields a tantalizing taste of Jesuit silver, leading them up one of the most dangerous rivers and deeper into this cursed history.
They were searching treasures with the thermal camera on a drone. But hey, the shot of Inspire 1 taking off clearly showed that this is a regular Zenmuse X3 camera, but not a Zenmuse XT Flir thermal camera.

The footage was looking very real, though. Same as a thermal camera footage.

The most ridiculous part of it was the drone operator who was pretending to control the drone. Instead of Inspire 1 remote controller, he was holding the Ronin RC and his mobile device was just balancing on top of it.

People who have never ever seen the Inspire 1 would probably believe it, we are the guys who treat the details very carefully noticed it.

Here is the remote controller he was using. Original DJI Ronin RC
Even thought we found out Discovery Channel cheating this way, we shouldn’t blame them. But whatever you watch on that channel, please don’t forget that this is just a show.
